It’s been incredibly exciting to watch our Love Launnie campaign gain such strong momentum in its first month. The level of community support and engagement has been outstanding, and I’m delighted to share some highlights with you.
Already, we’ve seen more than 1,800 entries and over $200,000 in recorded purchases through the Shopping Passport. On the Love Launnie Open Day alone, we recorded an impressive $83,933 in CBD spend in a single day, generated from 808 shop-to-win competition entries.
What’s particularly encouraging is the breadth of engagement. This reflects not only strong local support but also growing interest from beyond our region. This campaign reinforces the power of working together sharing what’s happening across our businesses and supporting one another to create a vibrant, thriving CBD.
Save the date: CBD networking event
Looking ahead, we’re bringing that spirit of connection to life with a casual CBD business networking event on 23 July, from 5.00–6.30pm. This will be delivered in partnership with the City of Launceston and the Chamber of Commerce, and I warmly encourage you to save the date and join us. My hope is that this becomes a regular quarterly opportunity for us to come together. Look for an opportunity to RSVP soon.
I’d also greatly value your feedback on a current issue affecting many of us. We have a short pulse survey on fuel shortages, and I would appreciate you taking just two minutes to share how this is impacting your business. The survey closes at the end of this week.
Join our upcoming campaign, 10-day Unwind festival
Finally, our Unwind campaign Expression of Interest is now open. If you’re interested in activating your business as part of this winter wellness campaign, I encourage you to learn more and submit your EOI.
Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support and commitment. Together, we’re building something truly special for Launceston. Remember our door is always open give us a tingle if you would like to catch up.
Warm regards,
Gab Dicarlantonio

Expressions of interest now open for Unwind, a new winter wellness festival
Coming 13-23 August, submit your interest today to join the upcoming festival
Now is your chance to be a part of Launceston's debut winter wellness festival, coming this August. Showcasing city businesses in the wellness space, Unwind will encourage businesses and community groups to run in-store activations, introductory offers, events, and collaborations that entice people into the CBD over winter.
We invite anyone with a service, experience, or idea that helps people unwind, relax, or connect to consider being a part of the festival. Businesses in the wellness sector include (but are not limited to) spa experiences, beauty, nutrition (including seasonal foods, and dopamine dining), fitness, meditation, art and music, and activities that encourage creativity or mindfulness (e.g pottery, crafting, reading, and painting). Hospitality also plays a key role in helping people to relax and unwind, so events and experiences that holistically combine the two are enthusiastically welcomed.
Ready to get on board and be a part of the festival program? Submit your interest at the link below or email us questions at info@launcestoncentral.com.au.
Thank you to the business owners who have already submitted a response to our fuel cost survey. Launceston Central would like to hear directly from as many owners and managers on how you are navigating fuel cost impacts, and what may help your business weather this continued crisis.
The survey linked below will take 3 minutes to complete, and the feedback you share will impact how key stakeholders develop a response to support local businesses. All feedback is welcome.
To thank you for your time, one respondent will be randomly selected to receive a $50 hospitality voucher from a CBD business of their choice. Respondents who submit an anonymous response will not be eligible for the drawing.
