  • Shared Value Awards
  • Country Club collaboration
  • Major upcoming events

Good afternoon everyone,

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for the warm welcome I have received since starting in early June as the new Executive Officer. A special thank you to Madi for doing a stellar job in the acting EO role and leading the team over the last eight months. I feel very fortunate to be working with such a talented team.

The team and I are excited to collaborate with you to roll out various marketing activations and campaigns aimed at increasing visitation to the CBD in the coming months.

The personal impact of The Lounge

Winter can often feel dark and dreary, but there’s a bright, warm glow in the CBD. We have re-opened The Lounge at 111-113 St John Street. Over 1,000 visitors have already enjoyed the warm, cosy environment. It's a great spot to have a meeting, catch up with a friend, sing a song, play a tune, tackle a jigsaw puzzle, donate a coat, or enjoy the cute kids' play area. We’re also encouraging people to grab a drink or something to eat from our amazing hospitality businesses to enjoy in the space.

I was lucky enough to be at The Lounge on Friday when a mum came in. While her little one played in the kids' area, she picked up the guitar and played the most beautiful song. Another memorable moment was when a lady came in on Saturday, asked about our Coat Library, and expressed her gratitude for receiving a warmer jacket after recently moving from Sydney. She proudly said, "Now I have a Tassie Tuxedo!".  The Lounge would not be possible without our amazing sponsors, whom we thank sincerely.

Next City Champs catch-up

Join us for our next City Champs meeting on Wednesday 9 July from 8am to 9am at Level 1, 63-65 Cameron Street, Launceston. Bring a cuppa and we will supply something yummy to nibble on. It's a great opportunity to share what is happening with your business and discuss any concerns you may have in a relaxed environment. The more we work together to make our Launceston CBD the place to live, work, and play, the louder our voice will be.

I look forward to meeting you personally over the coming months. Please feel free to reach out if you wish to catch up sooner.

Warm regards,

Gab_Sig

Launnie businesses invited to participate in County Club 'great golf ball grab' giveaway

Country Club - Driving Range - Jun 25 - 2 (1)

Father's Day isn't far away, and many local dads will be excited to learn about The Range opening at Country Club in Launceston this August. To help generate hype, Federal Hospitality will release 1,000 The Range branded golf balls within 25-50 local businesses in the CBD for lucky winners to find. Each ball will have a QR code leading to a prize which can be redeemed on property at The Range. Prizes will vary between the ultimate Range experience, vouchers, food and beverage products. The activation will run for 10 days starting from Saturday 16 August until Tuesday 26 August.

How businesses can participate

  • Be willing to hide 2-4 branded golf balls in your store each day during the 10 day activation.
  • Display a table topper in your store with instructions for participants.
  • Chilli FM will help kick-off the promotion, with a live OB in the CBD. Hints about ball locations will be shared live on air, and on social media throughout promotion.

Businesses that wish to join the fun must confirm by Monday 21 July by emailing Maddi de Winter (Marketing and Events Manager Federal Group) at mdewinter@federalgroup.com.au.
