Gabrielle Dicarlantonio, Chief Executive Officer of Launceston Central

Hello everyone,

We hope this newsletter finds you well. What an exciting month it has been already! A huge congratulations to Saigon Kitchen, crowned Launnie’s Best Bao. More than $10,000 worth of bao were purchased and over 200 people cast their votes. A big thank-you to Canton Restaurant, Mudbar, Bluestone Bar and Kitchen, Sun and Moon Eatery, Wang's Restaurant, Goldfish Express and Inside Café for creating such delicious bao and joining in the fun.

The next few weeks are shaping up to be vibrant across the CBD, with colourful new art murals appearing throughout the city thanks to the City of Launceston’s Throughfare event (please note details further down of the road closures for this event).

Love Launnie EOI open now

Launching soon is our brand-new campaign, Love Launnie, running from 1 May to 30 June. Designed to bring locals back into the CBD and encourage in-person retail over online shopping, Love Launnie is an eight-week celebration of our traders—replacing this year’s Super Sale Saturday. EOIs are now open for businesses keen to take part.

Update on The Lounge

The Lounge will soon return under new management, with Gallery Theatre taking the lead on this much-loved community space. We’re proud to support them through the transition and look forward to sharing more news as it unfolds.

Hawthorn celebrates 25 years

We’re also thrilled to welcome the Hawks back to Launnie this April, especially as they celebrate 25 years in our city. Expect plenty of activations and community moments as part of their milestone season. To learn more about their impact on our local economy, join the Chamber of Commerce and Hawthorn for their winter economy info session (details below).

With Easter just around the corner, and those gorgeous Launnie autumn days rolling in, we hope you enjoy the season with family, friends, and plenty of visitors. From our whole team, we wish you a wonderful Easter.

Warm regards,

Gab_Sig

EOI now open for Love Launnie

Join our campaign to promote local shopping in the CBD

Launceston Central's latest campaign, the return of Love Launnie, is launching 1 May through 30 June and the expression of interest is open now through 10 April.

The campaign will have three components: an in-person launch event on Saturday 2 May (open day), a digital shopping rewards program (shopping passport), and ongoing digital marketing with giveaways (weekly sector spotlight).

Only 100 retailers will be included in the shopping passport scheme. As this is primarily a retail campaign, these spaces will be allocated to the first 100 retail businesses to confirm their participation. To submit your interest, please click the link below.
